TIPS FOR YOUR TRIP
L A S V E G A S
A trip to Las Vegas can be exhilarating, yet one can be overwhelmed with the hot temperatures and the walking. Here are a few tips and great information that will help you while you're in Las Vegas!
1) Be Prepared to Walk. Plan to put in miles of walking during your Vegas trip. Just navigating from the hotel lobby up to your room can be a hike, let alone from casino to casino, which are always further than you think. Wear comfortable shoes during the day (tennis shoes or flat sandals). Pack your most comfortable heels for the trip just in case you will be walking a distance to get in the club or restaurant. Bring a small pair of flats or sandals in your purse for when needed.

2) It's Hot Hot! Vegas is very hot and dry in June, so when walking the Strip you may not even realize you’re sweating. Pack clothing accordingly to be comfortable in the heat. Always carry cold water with you and stay hydrated. Do not buy water bottles from unauthorized sellers on the street. Signs of heat exhaustion are dizziness, nausea, fatigue and headache.

3) Thieves Are Everywhere. With all the Vegas excitement it’s easy to lose track of your things, i.e. phone, ID, sunglasses, etc. It’s also easy for thieves to take advantage of these prime “lifting” conditions. DO NOT leave anything important in an easy to reach pocket, and don’t set your things down around you, like at a slot machine. Ladies please bring a small purse that's easy for carrying around while walking (crossbody bags allow you to have view of your purse in front of you). Don't carry all of your cash money on you at once. Set aside an amount you plan to spend for the day and leave the remainder in the room safe.

4) Budget And Pace Yourself. Vegas is a city that seduces money right out of your pockets. It’s easy to get mesmerized by the lights, glitz, and glam. Set a daily spending max, pace yourself, and stick to your budget.

5) Don't Overpack. Resist over packing, lugging big luggage, and risking overweight airline fees. You’ll likely pick up some souvenirs, so leave space in your suitcase anyway. Know if you need anything once you’re there, shopping is everywhere.

6) Bank Buddy System. Notify your bank that you’ll be vacationing in Las Vegas before you leave. If you don’t, it’s possible they will put a hold on your card for fraud protection. You may find yourself in a pretty lousy situation if you can’t get a hold of them.

7) Watch Your Drinks! From tourists to locals, keeping an eye on your drink is one of the best tips available. Some people walk around looking for victims to slip something in their drinks. This is one of the worst ways to spend your Vegas vacation, so be cautious.

8) Find a Food Buddy! Las Vegas restaurants are known for piling food extra high on plates. Most of the time the servings are enough for two people. Find a buddy who has the same taste in food and split the cost on one entrée if you don't eat a lot. Ask the waiter to split it in the kitchen or request an extra plate. This will cut down on food costs while traveling and not wasting uneaten food. We will be moving around quite a bit and no one wants to be stuck carrying around a doggie bag in 100 degree weather.

9) Be a Sweetie and Tip! Las Vegas is a city where "tipping" is extremely important. If someone is especially helpful during your stay, let them know with the appropriate gratuity. When it comes to tipping in Las Vegas, let your conscience be your guide. You can tip the Bellmen or Bell Captains, Valet Parking Attendants, Cocktail Waitresses, Restaurant Waiter/Waitress, Room Service Servers, Casino Dealers, Limo Drivers, Tour Guides, and more. If you receive great service give a tip!

10) Think Safety. Always let someone from the group know where you are. Please do not wander off alone or without telling someone where you are. It can be very dangerous and a party pooper to have your group guests spending time searching for a missing person of the group. Keep in contact with someone at all times if you have to separate yourself from the group.
